A global healthcare company focused on innovative technology and a drive towards patient survival is seeking a Senior Manager, Clinical Contracts and Payments to join their function. This role will oversee a global team and will support functions specific to site budget negotiations and site payment processing. Individuals with effective leadership skills, strong negotiation skills and business acumen will excel in this role.
The ideal candidate will be able to work on a hybrid schedule and will be commutable to Greater Philadelphia, Greater Boston, or Greater Krakow, Poland location.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Manager, Clinical Contracts and Payments will oversee a global team of individuals performing investigative site budget negotiation and site payment processing. The Sr. Manager will be accountable for accurate and timely delivery of site contracts and payments. Where these services are outsourced, this individual will oversee vendor management and performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee development of country-level site budget templates for complex studies in accordance with the protocol, Fair Market Value (FMV), industry benchmark data, and clinical study team feedback
- Assess FMV globally, ensuring accurate and consistent budget parameters per region
- Oversee development of associated playbooks for consistent negotiation
- Review and approve budget escalations; Provide guidance within the confines of the applicable playbooks/policies and triage escalations and issues to ensure prompt resolution.
- Identify and communicate risks with moderate-to-high exposure to the company.
- Analyze site contracting and site payment metrics, ensuring high performance of site contracting and payments teams/vendors
- Generate country and global reports, data and analytics within site contracting and payments systems/tools to provide insights into contract performance and risk exposure.
- Evaluate and implement global tech-enabled solutions to increase efficiency and reduce errors (i.e. contracts and payments lifecycle management systems/tools)
- Perform QC review of finalized budgets and site payments
- Forecast investigator grant payments for a portfolio of global studies
- Serve as a key point of contact for sharing site contracting and payment best practices and efficiencies across countries and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement training guides, work instructions, SOPs and governance frameworks related to clinical site contracting and payments
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4-year degree in related field (i.e. Finance/Business/Healthcare); MBA preferred but not required
- Prior experience in clinical business operations, business process management, project management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical site budgets and payments for global studies
- Sponsor or CRO experience required
- Line management experience required
- Vendor management experience required
- Fluent in English
SKILLS
- Operational knowledge of clinical research with experience in all stages of study lifecycle (e.g., start-up, recruitment and close-out)
- Excellent understanding of clinical trial protocols and knowledge of medical assessment terminology
- Extensive knowledge of contract lifecycle management
- Proven expertise in global site budget and template development
- Proficient in Fair Market Value, EDC, CTMS
