Primary Function:
The Senior Manager, Corporate Tax oversees the preparation of the year-end tax provision, and all tax filings and reporting in compliance with all required regulations. Responds to inquiries for federal, state and local audits. Evaluates the tax implications of company activities and strategies to minimize the tax obligations. Advises management on tax strategies to optimize tax savings while minimizing risk. Works with outside accounting advisors for year-end tax provision review and federal and state tax return review.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal consolidated tax return and all state income/franchise tax returns.
- Prepare the tax accrual workbook and tax entries.
- Prepare year end extensions and quarterly federal and state tax estimated tax payments.
- Review foreign tax accrual and deferred tax accounts and reconcile to financial statements.
- Prepare tax footnote for audited financial statements and FIN48 memo.
- Reconcile tax accounts on a monthly basis.
- Calculate Earnings & Profits for each foreign entity.
- Update Corptax mapping with U.S. and foreign trial balances.
- Coordinate with outside firms the preparation of complex U.S. federal tax adjustments, credits and deductions, as well as the preparation of state registrations and annual report filings.
- Oversee and manage OECD Pillar II global minimum tax reporting and compliance.
- Oversee and review preparation of property tax returns, annual fixed asset documentation and analysis, FBARs and amended state tax returns.
- Manage all domestic tax audits (i.e., income tax, sales tax, property tax, unclaimed property).
- Manage and develop U.S. tax accounting staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related discipline
- 10-15 years diversified public accounting and private industry experience in a multi-site, global manufacturing environment.
- Deep technical knowledge of U.S. tax law and compliance.
- Extensive experience working with CorpTax or other corporate tax preparation software
- Unquestioned professional integrity and credibility
- Superior interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to influence within a highly matrixed organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Tax, or other related advanced certification
- Certified Public Accountant or other related professional designation
- 2 years of experience with Earnings and Profit Analysis
