OBJECTIVES:- Liaison with other groups to assure seamless process integration, adherence to quality processes, compliance standards and support.
- Manage and participate cross functionally in the development, generation and approval of documentation requirements for equipment and software.
- Manage and provide equipment/inventory management services to all R&D labs.
- Establish, lead and manage team of full-time and contract staff to assure seamless process integration and adherence to quality processes, and compliance standards.
- Identify opportunities for process, system, and service level improvements. Manage efforts to collaboratively develop and implement them across the Takeda Lexington and Cambridge campuses.
- Manage and administer lab integrated systems and platforms.
- Manage the scheduling and execution of end user requests for utility upgrades, modifications, and installations.
- Manage projects while interacting with EHS, Facilities, Space Planning and Security.
- Position is responsible for ensuring compliance, performing documentation review, implementing, and managing workflows related to all laboratory equipment.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and establish SMART methods for the continued development of self and team, as well as manage critical operational issues as they arise.
- Collaborate and execute regular/ongoing employee performance assessments through organizational and departmental goals.
- Develop and support on going employee development initiatives for self and team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:- Manage equipment services including calibration, maintenance, service contract renewal, software/hardware upgrades for existing equipment.
- Identify opportunities and lead initiatives to collaboratively improve service levels and business processes regarding equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Manage and administer equipment database information, including maintaining database for equipment moves, new equipment arrivals, equipment decommissioning and updated standards.
- Manage and lead inventory management programs. Provide system administrative support for sample inventory.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators and matrices to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage laboratory renovation and improvement projects by compiling a business case, coordinating stakeholders, and driving resolution and deliverables.
- Manage and lead cross-functional projects and lab safety initiatives, on behalf of Laboratory Operations.
- Collaborate with Takeda EHS on lab safety assessments.
- Represent Research and Development on campus leadership initiatives
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering, business or related pharmaceutical science and 6+ years relevant industry experience
- Master's degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering, business or related pharmaceutical science; 4+ years relevant industry experience
- PhD in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering, business or related pharmaceutical science; 3+ years relevant industry experience

- Familiarity with laboratory equipment. Ability to learn and administrate new platforms and software applications.
- Ability to own and manage departmental finance and budget justification.
- Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: Able to troubleshoot critical issues or problems and resolve routine issues using appropriate information.
- Requires in-depth interactions with scientists, quality specialists, facilities, engineering and external vendors.
- Working knowledge of financial systems, e.g. SAP, Ariba and SPOT
- Familiarity with the administration and operation of automated alarm monitoring and notification platforms.
Complexity & Problem Solving
- Work with end users and support departments to translate user requirements into support requirements, such as service contract terms, calibration tolerances, and inventory management requirements (e.g., stocking levels, reorder trigger, etc.).
- Identify non-value added activities and create potential solutions to improve process performance or overall compliance. Lead in managing, developing, implementing, and training users on improved processes or systems.

- Internal: Research & Development, Facilities, IT, Engineering, Validation, Quality, Finance, Procurement, Inventory Management, Asset Management and Security.
- External: Calibration, Service Providers, Suppliers, Consumables Management Contractors, Critical Infrastructure and Environmental Chamber Responders
Other Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to travel between Takeda's Greater Boston sites and facilities.
- Should possess a valid driver's license.
- Approximately 5% travel may be required.
- Available to support critical activities and operations during off-hours and weekends on an infrequent basis.

U.S. Base Salary Range:$133,000.00 - $209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
