Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting - ABGI USA
ABGI USA is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting to serve as the strategic financial lead for our U.S. operations. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a strong background in professional services or consulting, excellent technical accounting skills, and the ability to operate within a multi-entity, multinational organization. The Senior Manager will report directly to the President & CEO and will oversee a boutique finance and accounting team.
The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years of financial leadership, deep expertise in client billing, and a proven track record of driving financial operations, planning, compliance, and reporting within a complex, high-growth environment.
This role is based at our Houston office, with an expectation of onsite presence at least 2-3 days per week to collaborate closely with executive leadership and the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Drive and execute financial strategy aligned with local and corporate goals.
- Provide strategic financial insights to the CEO and executive leadership along with parent company financial leadership to support business growth and operational strategy.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning with a focus on scalability and sustainability.
- Serve as a liaison with the corporate parent company's finance team to ensure alignment with global policies.
Financial Operations & Accounting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions and month-end/year-end close processes with timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, and IFRS (if applicable), as well as corporate finance policies.
- Manage financial controls, accounting policies, and internal procedures to minimize risk and ensure audit readiness.
- Lead annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting in collaboration with external accounting firm.
Cash Flow, Treasury & Risk Management
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and bank relationships to maintain financial health.
- Address financial risks related to currency exposure, intercompany transactions, and capital structure.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Client Billing & Revenue Oversight
- Oversee billing and revenue recognition processes, particularly related to professional service engagements.
- Ensure accurate and timely client invoicing across entities.
- Partner with operational teams to maintain client profitability and service margin visibility.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a boutique team of finance professionals across accounting, FP&A, and compliance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and process optimization.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement in finance operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA, CMA, or Chartered Accountant preferred.
- MBA or Master's in Finance a plus.
- 7+ years of financial leadership experience in accounting/finance roles.
- Prior experience in professional services or consulting industry experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-entity financial management and client billing operations.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and corporate financial reporting.
- Proficiency in financial planning, strategic forecasting, and modeling.
- Experience with financial systems such as QuickBooks and Salesforce is required.
