What does a Senior Manager, Demand Planner do at Swire Coca-Cola?

The Demand Planner will play a crucial role in supporting the Sales team's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP)initiatives. This position involves generating and assessing the 24-month horizon Demand Plan (or official forecast of the business) which is handed off to Supply and the rest of the business for execution and planning to a single set of numbers and assumptions which is essential for driving our supply chain processes, resource allocation decisions, and meeting the needs of our customers and consumers. In addition to the IBP scope the Demand Planner will actively participate with the broader ITP team, specifically the Supply Planners, to manage the weekly execution of the forecast at the regional and outlet level to ensure the right product in the right place at the right time. By effectively managing integrated business planning, the Demand Planner will enhance our ability to meet consumer demand at the rate of consumption. This role requires cross-functional collaboration to gather key inputs and achieve a unified consensus forecast, serving as the single source of truth, and ensuring that Swire Coca Cola can meet the needs of the consumer at the rate of consumption.

Responsibilities:
  • Reconciliation of multiple views or forecasts and supporting assumptions into a single source of truth as the Demand Plan which represents a volume forecast by units synchronized with revenue and cost over the long-term planning horizon.
  • Collaboration with Supply Planning, regional and account level sales leaders to ensure support and visibility to the weekly execution of regional customer plans.
  • Manage and optimize the Demand Planning system and routines to create and review statistical forecasts by gathering, analyzing, and validating data. This includes reviewing historical sales trends, researching demand drivers, preparing forecast data, developing statistical forecast models, and evaluating forecast results.
  • Participate in regional cross-functional collaboration meetings with other Sales Demand Planning Managers, Logistics, Commercial and Strategy, Production, and Finance to facilitate an accurate Demand Plan.
  • Track and manage demand planning KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) including demand plan accuracy, bias and product mix accuracy to drive improvement and accuracy into the demand planning process. Leverage continues improvement and lean six-sigma techniques to drive improvement.
  • Participation and collaboration with sales and marketing during account reviews, account strategy meetings, regional and national sales meetings, and discussions and promotional activities to ensure the demand plan represents our best estimate of the forward-looking plans over the entire IBP planning horizon.
  • Conduct proactive forecast quality assessments using trend analysis, forecast vs actual results, and data input of volume by utilizing customer promotional calendars, history and current information
  • Support the management of material introduction and deletion for forecast needs including re-alignment requirements of sales history
  • Understand the dynamics of assigned categories and items, including seasonality, pricing, trends, ad campaigns, category role, sales objectives, regional trends, and drivers
  • Monitor forecast error/accuracy proactively, performing root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement in accuracy metrics.
  • Support all related integrated planning requirements and other assigned projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Statistics, Business or other relevant field of study preferred
  • 2-3 years' experience in demand planning, forecasting, analytics, or supply chain management required
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and organizational boundaries required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting, and forecasting methods with a solid understanding of their financial and operational impacts required.
  • Experience in Sig-Sigma project analysis and improvement techniques to drive and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the demand planning process.
  • Experience in consumer food or beverages industry preferred
  • Prior experience with sales and operations (S&OP processes) planning and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) desired
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, with expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel, required
  • Prior use of forecasting and planning systems preferred
  • APICS or other forecasting certification preferred

salary range is $134,790 to $176,912 plus bonus structure (dependent on role). Pay offered will depend on candidate's geographic location, prior relevant experience, knowledge, skills, & abilities.
