POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Maintenance Technician (III) is responsible for the maintenance of all machines. Serve as a good role model to coworkers for safe working practices and behavior by keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Receives machine priorities from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Install and wire industrial equipment as directed by Maintenance Manager
  • Routinely performs machinery checks ensuring all safety devices are installed and functioning properly.
  • Conduct periodic checks of all electrical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting potential equipment or building issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions.
  • Work independently from verbal and/or written instructions from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Communicate with off-going/on-coming technicians.
  • The ability to monitor the process and show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues.
  • Assists with training of junior technical staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:

High school diploma or equivalent required


Experience:

Must have at least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or technical hands-on experience.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Knowledge of plastic processing and trouble shooting.
  • Advanced electrical experience.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Possess good hand-eye coordination with manual dexterity.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Teamwork-cooperative and respectful of all employees/department.
  • Initiative - self motivated.
  • Good communication/teaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Physical demands and working conditions:
  • The overall nature of the position requires constant physical exertion with physical effort frequently required. There is constant exposure to environmental noises and hazards, frequent exposure to cold and heat temperature changes.
  • The constant physical demands of the position are talking and hearing.
  • The frequent physical demands of the position are repetitive hand motions.
  • The frequent physical demands of the position are standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, eye/hand/foot coordination and safely push and pull items.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 100 occasionally; 50 pounds frequently.
