Produces the program and system specifications for complex systems and tasks which include system flowcharts, audit trails, control procedures, and coordinates the testing and implementation of these. Functions as a project leader for specific systems and tasks. Consults with users and other MIS staff regarding production and/or program problems. Participates in the coding, testing and implementation of programs while coordinating the complex development or major revision of a system project Keeps abreast of new developments in the mainframe field by Continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
