Join our team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer Lead at Capital One. In this role, you will be an integral part of an Agile team that focuses on deploying machine learning applications and systems at scale. You will engage in the technical design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge machine learning applications using both established and innovative technologies.
What you'll do:
- Design and deliver machine learning models that solve real-world business challenges, collaborating closely with Product and Data Science teams.
- Use your expertise in machine learning concepts to guide ML infrastructure decisions, including model choice, data handling, feature selection, and validation.
- Write and test code to solve complex problems while developing and validating machine learning models.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional Agile team to enhance software that supports advanced big data and ML applications.
- Monitor and maintain models in a production environment.
- Utilize or develop cloud architectures and technologies to optimize ML models for large-scale deployment.
- Create efficient data pipelines to supply ML models with the requisite data.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment practices to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code.
- Manage code quality to mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure that models comply with best practices in Responsible and Explainable AI.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience in designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
- 4+ years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java.
- 3+ years of experience in building and optimizing machine learning systems.
- 2+ years in a leadership role leading teams in developing ML solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Experience deploying machine learning solutions in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow.
- Strong background in developing maintainable and resilient code, data gathering, and preparation for ML.
- Experience in people management and recognized impact in the ML industry through presentations or publications.
