Job Title: Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator

Location: Hybrid - 3 days onsite in Annapolis, MD / 2 days remote (U.S. only)

Contract Duration: Up to 5 years

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator to support the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) infrastructure. This role involves managing system stability, performance tuning, patching, automation, and supporting a broad suite of enterprise applications. You will work in a hybrid environment, reporting onsite three days a week in Annapolis, MD, with the flexibility to respond to urgent onsite requirements within 24 hours' notice.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) - must include valid certification number.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Red Hat Linux administrator.
  • 10+ years of experience administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
  • 15+ years of total IT experience.

Technical Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced RHEL installation, configuration, and maintenance in dev/test/prod environments.
  • Automation with Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM).
  • Expertise in system upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and security hardening.
  • Support for applications including:
  • Oracle WebLogic / Oracle DB
  • Progress 4GL / OpenEdge
  • Apache Web Server
  • vSphere-hosted RHEL Servers
  • Rubrik backup
  • PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search, Oracle OBI, CVS
  • Red Hat support and troubleshooting across OS, database, and app layers.
  • Experience in 24x7 high-availability environments.
  • Storage and disaster recovery planning and execution.

Soft Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Interfaces directly with users, helpdesk, and application support teams.
  • Maintain system documentation, logs, configuration guides, and incident reports.
  • Participate in on-call support and incident resolution.
  • Must be able to work independently and report onsite within 24 hours when needed.
