Cashe State Veterans' Nursing Home Orlando, Orange County, FL. Annual Salary: $48,505.60 Paid Bi-weekly. Position is Overtime Eligible. Special LIMITED SIGN ON BONUS. The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs is an agency dedicated to serving those who served the U.S. We are seeking a motivated, dynamic SLPN to join our team. Our facility boasts a loyal team of long-term and fantastic work culture. 13-hour shift 6:45 am - 8:35 pm 6:45 pm - 8:35 am 40 hours in 3 days (13-hours, 20-minute actual work time), every other weekend off. Eligible Shift will be eligible for $1.00/hr. shift differential. This position may include a sign-on bonus of $2,000, which will be paid out over a two-year period at 6-month intervals (restrictions apply). Any employee leaving employment with the agency or moving to OPS prior to that timeframe will forfeit any additional bonus reimbursement. There is no guarantee of payment unless you complete the term of employment. If you leave prior to completion of the term, you are owed nothing by the Agency, and the recoupment of any previously paid bonus amount will be at the Agency's discretion. Returning employees must have left the Department for a period of 12 months or more to be eligible for the sign-on bonus. The FDVA Division of Long-term Care are designated employment sites for the Nursing Student Loan Forgiveness Program. From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4,000.00 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years. Payment is made at the end of each 12-month enrollment period and made directly to the participant's lender. Enrollment and payment of awards is based on available funds. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays, as needed. Licensure in Florida as a Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464. Must possess a current CPR certification. Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be able to communicate effectively in English: reading, speaking and writing. Successful completion of the employment screening process includes, but is not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of experience in long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility, with a geriatric population. One (1) year of experience providing practical nursing services. Experience with Electronic Medical Records. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The incumbent is responsible for providing quality care to the residents to ensure their health, safety, and security in accordance with established agency Standard Operating Procedures and Nurse Practice Act. Incumbent reports to the Nursing Supervisor. Provides administrative support that is technical in nature through established nursing standards, the individualized care plan and interdisciplinary teamwork according to established local and FDVA policies and procedures. Coordinates shift assignments to team members, providing supervision of licensed and unlicensed staff and follow up to ensure completion of assignments. Provide assistance with all aspects of resident care, treatments, self-administration of medications, coordinating medical appointments and spending time in social interactions with residents each shift worked. Report resident concerns and needs promptly to the appropriate team member. Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health related tasks. Follow Resident's Rights policies at all times and maintain confidentiality of resident information. Consistently work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP's, consultants and ancillary service providers to assist residents to achieve maximum abilities, safety and promote happiness. Document services and care plan outcomes appropriately within the facility software/database. Participate in staff development and orientation of new personnel. Attends all in-service programs, training classes and domiciliary meetings. Assumes responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook. Observe all facility safety, infection control, risk management, HIPAA policies. Performs other related duties as required. This position is in the Career Service system.
