Senior Counsel needed for a growing legal department of a healthcare company based in Midwest. The Senior Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance and ensure company's compliance with regulatory standards in the healthcare industry. Some representative responsibilities include:
- Align legal strategies with company goals and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws governing healthcare and business operations
- Monitor legislative changes, provide counsel to executives, and oversee corporate governance to uphold ethical standards.
- Lead negotiations for complex contracts with various stakeholders, including hospitals, vendors, and healthcare providers.
- Draft, review, and finalize agreements while mitigating risks and fostering positive relationships.
- Identify and reduce legal risks proactively.
- Oversee legal disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel when needed, while advising on risk management strategies.
- Ensure compliance with key healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, Stark Law, and the Anti-Kickback Statute to maintain data privacy and regulatory adherence
The Senior Counsel will provide legal oversight, proactive risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and effective contract management as critical areas of focus.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Minimum 7 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on healthcare law and corporate transactions.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
- Proven track record in negotiating and drafting complex contracts.
- Prior experience in a healthcare-related organization or law firm specializing in healthcare law is preferred.
