Leidos is looking for a highly skilled
Senior Lead Software Engineer to support the orchestration of a unified software-defined network (SDN) for the Army. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and involves working on complex systems.
Primary Responsibilities - Lead the execution of the entire software development lifecycle, from initial planning to operational readiness using an agile model that continuously adds functionality and automation.
- Drive design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and maintenance processes while identifying automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across teams and projects.
- Work closely with internal and customer teams to analyze software requirements and user stories, providing accurate estimates and design specifications.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity experts to ensure compliance of all hardware and software components with applicable standards and policies.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to test and evaluate hardware and software integrations.
- Develop and manage automated test plans and strategies.
- Design and implement code fixes while validating changes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network configuration and environment issues.
- Provide regular, transparent status updates in the requested format.
- Ensure quality control for all developed and revised software.
Basic Qualifications - Master's degree with 12+ years of experience (or Bachelor's degree with 20+ years).
- 5+ years of Agile DevSecOps engineering experience leading systems orchestration and/or automation testing using CI/CD pipelines and modern coding languages.
- 5+ years of experience utilizing APIs and Web Services (SOAP and REST) for implementing network automation and orchestration, including experience with API dashboards.
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Customer service oriented.
- Proven experience in a leadership role managing a team of developers, driving software standards and processes.
- Experience collaborating across various disciplines to achieve unified objectives.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance to be considered.
Preferred Qualifications - Possession of a current DevOps Engineer Certification.
- Two years of experience in DoD network infrastructure.
- Two years of experience developing SDN orchestration playbooks with commercial internet service providers.

Pay Range: $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
