We are on the lookout for a talented Senior Lead Cloud Database Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with an experienced professional services team to assist clients in migrating to and efficiently operating in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), with a strong emphasis on data and database management.
What You'll Do: - Collaborate closely with colleagues and clients to address and resolve data-related challenges.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot sizing, performance, and configuration issues.
- Plan and execute data migrations as part of comprehensive cloud migration initiatives.
- Modernize database platforms, transitioning from MSSQL/Oracle to PgSQL/Aurora.
- Design and implement data lakes and ETL pipelines that meet customer needs.
- Provide expert consulting guidance to clients and prospective clients, and assist colleagues with planning and drafting Statements of Work.
Who You Are: You are passionate about technology and the vast opportunities offered by public cloud solutions. You excel in helping customers tackle their existing issues while proactively identifying and addressing new challenges. Additionally, you possess the following qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: - A BA/BS Degree with 8 years of relevant experience (diverse database administration and architecture), or an MS degree with 6 years of overall relevant experience, or a Ph.D. and 3 years of experience, or 12 years of overall relevant experience without a college degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in public cloud environments.
- Intermediate or advanced AWS and/or Azure cloud data certifications (e.g., AWS Database Specialty, DP-100, DP-203, DP-300, DP-500).
- Expert-level proficiency with MS SQL Server and experience with at least one other platform, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB/CosmosDB, both on-premises and in cloud environments (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools for data integration with databases and data warehouses/data lakes.
- Intermediate proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., ARM, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management in on-premises (Active Directory) and public cloud environments (AWS IAM, Azure AD).
- Experience using migration tools, including but not limited to: backup/restore, log shipping/mirroring, Always On Availability Groups, AWS Database Migration Services, Schema Conversion Tool, Azure Migrate, Azure Data Migration Assistant, and AWS Glue.
Preferred Experience: - Professional or expert-level Cloud Architecture certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AZ-305).
- Intermediate to expert familiarity with commercial analytics or data warehousing platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, RedShift, or Azure DataLake.
- Experience with AI/ML applications and pipeline development.
- Knowledge of industry verticals, particularly in: Healthcare/HealthTech, Financial Services/FinTech, SaaS, or E-Commerce.
Compensation: Compensation includes a base salary ranging from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00. This range may vary based on factors such as the location of the position and the candidate's expertise and skills. The position may also be eligible for additional compensation through an incentive program.
Benefits: We offer eligible employees flexibility in taking paid vacation time, supplemented by seven paid holidays each year, and up to 160 hours of paid wellness leave annually for personal or family wellness. Additional paid time off is available for bereavement leave, voting, jury duty, volunteering, military service, and parental leave.
