Akkodis is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract position with a client in Charlotte, NC, or Plano, TX (Hybrid). This role involves hands-on development, enhancement, and maintenance of critical applications in a fast-paced financial environment. You will work closely with business partners to define requirements and ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria while collaborating with multiple technology teams to implement strategic architecture and platform migration.
Rate Range: $60 to $70 per hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, test, debug, and document software applications.
- Partner with business teams to define requirements and drive application changes.
- Develop and maintain high-performance, scalable applications.
- Work with modern development tools and frameworks to ensure seamless application enhancements.
- Implement target architecture and migration strategies for the strategic platform.
- Apply Agile methodologies in the software development lifecycle.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years of hands-on Java Development experience - Core Java, REST services, Spring Boot
- Experience with Tomcat server, performance tuning, and Windows/Linux environments
- Background in Object-Oriented Programming and Agile Development Methodology
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Artifactory, GIT/Bitbucket)
- Knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Containers, Web Services, and Microservices
- Preferred experience with JavaScript frameworks - Angular 2+, AngularJS, NodeJS, and CSS
- B.S. or M.S. in Information Technology/Computer Science
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Financial Services/Banking industry.
- Strong Core Java skills, including multi-threading, collections API, JDBC, and Java profiling tools.
- Understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems.
