Primary Skills: Java (Expert), AWS (Expert), Kotlin (Proficient), Node.js (Proficient), CI/CD (Proficient) Contract Type: W2 Duration: 5 Months contract with possible extension Location: Glendale, CA Pay Range: $90.00 to $96.00 Per Hour Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer for the Studio Tech Team to enhance our Debut screening platform, an exclusive, invitation-only tool aimed at securely screening and protecting content. The ideal candidate will have a passion for streaming media and a dedication to developing highly available, high-performance services critical for delivering premier content. This role involves leading a growing team, architecting scalable solutions, and ensuring our internal screening tools exceed industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with engineers to design and implement software solutions in an agile environment, using advanced technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch. Utilize a range of AWS technologies (e.g., EKS, S3, Cognito) in solution development and maintenance. Lead architectural discussions, contribute significantly to technical proposals, and conduct thorough root cause analysis for system optimizations. Engage in and supervise code reviews, providing constructive feedback and guidance on improvements. Troubleshoot production issues efficiently, ensuring robust support for operational escalations, and mentor engineering team members to foster their professional growth. Must-Have Skills: 5+ years of experience in Java, Kotlin or similar object-oriented programming languages. 3+ years of experience in Node.js 5+ years of experiences in relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL, etc. Strong experience with AWS services and architecture. Also, Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git. Industry Experience: Experience in streaming technologies (HLS, DRM, watermarking) and understanding the video content distribution supply chain is crucial for this role.
