Overview: Join the Defense Group of Leidos in an exciting opportunity as a Senior IT Systems Administrator. Support operational excellence for the ONE-Net portion of the NGEN-R Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) contract with a focus on enhancing IT services for the Navy while based in Dededo, Guam.
NGEN-R SMIT provides the largest IT services program for the Navy, focusing on cybersecurity, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Be part of the mission to unify shore-based networks and improve service delivery, driving significant cost savings under one enterprise network.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage and support IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues swiftly.
- Administer and maintain Virtual Server environments, utilizing vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and VMware tools.
- Oversee system and network upgrades, applying patches and enforcing security updates.
- Implement IT policies and security measures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls effectively.
- Lead IT projects involving system migrations, software launches, and cloud integrations.
- Document IT infrastructure, including network diagrams and troubleshooting guides.
- Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enhance operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively within a team to foster collaboration and innovation.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree with 2-6 years in a computer science or related IT field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network management.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, etc.).
- Possess CCNP, CCDP, MTA, MCSA, or MCTS Certification.
- One Microsoft Server Operating System Certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and virtualization technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: - VMware Certified Advanced Professional.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate for hybrid cloud integration.
- Certifications such as CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate or related networking certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience with automation tools like PowerBI.
- Knowledge of database management and SQL.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, etc.) is a plus.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework and best practices.
- Experience in supporting the DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS) and managing related security protocols.
