Symmetrio is actively recruiting for a Senior IT Project Manager for our customer, a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. This role will lead complex technology initiatives tied to a large-scale enterprise transformation focused on modernizing finance, procurement, and tax systems. You will play a key role in system integration, stakeholder coordination, and risk management to ensure the successful delivery of a next-generation ERP platform.

As the Senior IT Project Manager, you will serve as a bridge between IT leadership, operations teams, and external vendors-driving project strategy, timelines, and execution across multiple departments. Your work will support efforts to modernize legacy systems, streamline operational processes, and ensure seamless user adoption through well-executed change management and training initiatives. This is an impactful role for a leader who thrives at the intersection of technology strategy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

This is a full-time hybrid role based in Philadelphia, with 1-2 days per week onsite. Salary being offered is in the $110-130k range depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the IT workstreams for a citywide ERP replacement initiative, managing the full project lifecycle from discovery through deployment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with operations leadership and external vendors to drive effective execution and accountability.
  • Report on progress, risks, and dependencies to IT executives and key stakeholders; escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT teams, functional business units, and external consultants to ensure unified communication and shared goals.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops and working sessions to gather technical and functional requirements.
  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans to ensure project transparency and stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide executive-level status reports and presentations on a regular cadence.
  • Coordinate efforts across technical teams to manage data migration, API development, and integration of legacy tax systems with the new ERP platform.
  • Ensure technology solutions align with industry best practices in cybersecurity, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Support solution design and ensure compatibility with both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex IT projects, including large-scale enterprise system replacements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholder groups in matrixed environments.
  • Expertise in project planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
  • Strong understanding of data integration, cloud/on-prem hybrid infrastructure, and IT governance principles.
  • Skilled in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
