Responsibilities

The Senior IT Project Manager manages multiple IT projects of varying size and scope including large sized, cross-functional projects with several sub-project dependencies across the enterprise utilizing InnovAge Standardized Project Management Methodology. They are responsible for developing project objectives, metrics, financials, and timeline and will, manage change, and controls scope. Effectively utilizes project management tools and is knowledgeable of various development lifecycle methodologies. They lead all project team resources including users and technical staff while reporting project progress, concerns and issues to project stakeholders. This position is responsible for leading process improvement activities to identify and resolve complex business problems. The Senior IT Project Manager leads the change management process, engaging with key project sponsors to ensure change adoption. The Senior IT Project Manager reports to the Director, IT PMO but drives projects with minimal direction while also mentoring teams on best practices, process improvement and project management skills.

Project Management - 75%
  • Partner with project sponsors and project teams to establish authority as project manager, gain consensus, and develop a clear understanding of the project charter, scope, objectives, mandates, timeframe, budget, and other project metrics.
  • Facilitate the gathering of project requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders to establish the project deliverables, using requirements gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and create project artifacts.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques to keep the project plan accurate and reflective of authorized project changes.
  • Manage all project risk levels, develop appropriate contingency plans and pro-actively identify changes to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Monitor costs, schedule, risk, quality performance and identify and escalate risks and issues through resolution.
  • Create and maintain a current and complete project plan, and all other project documents and artifacts in the document management system.
  • Govern vendor performance through statements of work, establishing deliverables and performance criteria and manage.

  • Manage project transition to production operations.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and leadership to identify and resolve competing priorities.
  • Deliver project objectives on time and within scope and budget.
  • Evaluate post-implementation benefits achievement and metrics.
  • Establish, maintain, and analyze project performance metrics on an ongoing basis, and report them on at established intervals.
  • Estimate and manage project hours and financial information on an ongoing basis and report them at established intervals.
  • Mentor teams on best practices, process improvement and project management skills
Change Management - 10%
  • Leads the change management process for each project; anticipates change leadership needs for business.
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate business process change and user change management activity.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the To-Be vision and to champion it across the organization.
Process Improvement and Continuous Improvement - 10%
  • Ability to design, develop, or modify business processes, with identification of bottlenecks and process capacities. Ability to map as-is and to-be business processes.
  • Collaborates with business partners to devise/modify processes to solve complex problems and/or improve existing processes.
  • Contribute to the PMO project management discipline with thoughtful analysis and recommendations for continuous improvement presented to Director, IT Project Management Office.
  • Lead in the development and socialization of approved improvements
  • Organize, manages and direct project team tasks to assure proper application of PMO standards, tools, and methodologies in project work.
Travel - Less than 10% depending on project.

REQUIRED
  • 8+ yrs managing projects in a lead role or equivalent skill set/work experience is acceptable.
  • Must possess position-level appropriate verbal and written communication skills, facilitation and presentation skills, and the ability to bring a project team to consensus on issue.
  • Must be able to communicate difficult/sensitive information in a diplomatic and tactful way.
  • Demonstrated capability to successfully handle multiple project team and multiple tasks simultaneously and under strict deadline.
  • Proficient in Agile Methodology and Tools
  • Experience in healthcare
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification, is required within one year of placement in this position.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
PREFERRED
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead multiple IT projects of varying size and scope including large and complex technical and business-oriented enterprise-wide projects using a standardized methodology.
  • Change Management Certification (such as PROSCI).
  • LEAN or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience using project management software.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Project Management Institute (PMI) and/or or Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) or similar project management methodology.
