Senior IT Project Manager - Healthcare
Location: Boston, MA / Hybrid 2 days a week onsite
Employment Type: Contract
Assingment Length: 12 months

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of mission-critical technology initiatives in a complex, multi-vendor environment. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, strategic thinker with a strong background in both project management and business analysis, capable of navigating technical challenges while ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Health Connector regarding project management and vendor implementation.
  • Develop and manage integrated implementation schedules including milestones, deliverables, and all phases of the SDLC.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and subject matter experts to drive project planning, execution, testing, and go-live readiness.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings and communicate risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies to senior IT and business leadership.
  • Review project documentation and requirements, perform impact assessments, and maintain issue logs.
  • Lead triage efforts, resolve project issues, and provide direction to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
  • Promote project management best practices and ensure all user requirements, deliverables, and approvals are fully documented.
  • May oversee business analysts and assist with aligning technical tasks to business needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in IT or software development environments.
  • At least 5 years of business analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Office 365 tools.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, system integrations, and vendor management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with local, state, or federal government agencies.
  • Background in State-Based Marketplaces or healthcare IT environments.
