Senior IT Network Secuirty Engineer

Role Overview:
  • Provide consulting services to clients in Colorado.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to understand business and technical objectives.
  • Deliver IT network and security infrastructure solutions that meet/exceed client expectations.
  • Work in diverse and complex environments, ensuring seamless interaction between infrastructure components.
  • Design, optimize, and troubleshoot networking and security deployments across on-premises, hybrid cloud, and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a high-value consultant by delivering exceptional technical expertise.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, becoming an integral part of their IT teams.
  • Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) for network and security consulting projects and execute them accordingly.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication throughout project phases with clients and sales teams.
  • Enhance technical knowledge through continuous learning, collaboration, and professional training.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in assigned product areas.
  • Support sales teams in generating new business and expanding existing client relationships.
  • Strengthen vendor relationships by gaining deep technical expertise in relevant products.
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and managing Managed Services offerings.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in IT networking, security, computing, and storage (Tier 2 or 3 engineering role or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of the TCP/IP stack and networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS.
  • Experience in designing, deploying, managing, documenting, and monitoring networks, including:
    • Switches, routers, VPNs, remote access, SD-WAN
    • Security components such as firewalls, IDS, anti-virus, SIEM, and other security/network tools
  • Hands-on expertise with multiple security and networking solutions (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Ruckus, Check Point, Fortinet).
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, and PRTG.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across various technical and management levels.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
