The Senior IT/IS Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining all information technology and information systems across the organization, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role serves as the backup for all IT/IS functions in the Director of IT's absence and is a key contributor to IT infrastructure, security, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT systems administration, network management, cybersecurity, and enterprise software applications, with prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Essential Work Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary support and backup for all IT/IS functions in the Director of IT's absence.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues across two work sites.
• Manage and maintain company networks, servers, and cloud-based systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor and enforce IT security policies and best practices to protect company data and infrastructure.
• Support enterprise applications, including ERP, manufacturing software, and business intelligence tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system failures, performance issues, and user concerns in a timely manner.
• Lead IT-related projects, including upgrades, implementations, and process improvements as directed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for IT support and infrastructure needs.
• Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to improve efficiency.
• Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT policies, software, and best practices.
• Travel frequently between company work sites to provide hands-on support and maintain IT infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in IT/IS support, administration, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, cybersecurity best practices, and system administration.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and cloud-based solutions.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, Websites, SQL and Power BI preferred.
• Familiarity with an ERP conversion a plus.
• Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, software installation, and network configuration.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support non-technical users effectively.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to travel frequently between work sites.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
• Constantly lifts, moves, installs, and/or operates a computer, phone, and other related office and IT equipment.
• Communicate with others both verbally and in writing.
• Regularly required to sit; regularly required to stand/walk/move about the office and factory; may be required to crouch in low areas, work from ladder height, and/or work in tight spaces wherever IT-related equipment may be located.
• Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Will be required to wear appropriate PPE if moving about the production areas.

Work Environment: While most duties will be in an office environment, the employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts when moving through or working in production areas. Noise level in the production areas is moderate to loud and non-climate controlled.
