The Senior IT Support Technician plays a critical role in supporting our clients by providing advanced technical support and guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians.
This role involves provisioning and repairing server equipment, activating on-site server and workstation software, and offering on-call support for our implementation team during installations. Additionally, the Senior IT Support Technician manages escalated tickets and assists with fulfillment needs as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Provision server hardware and software for new pharmacy implementations and break/fix replacements, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
- Develop and update software build images used for the efficient deployment of new hardware, ensuring consistency and reliability.
- Implement and manage remote monitoring tools and backup solutions to maintain the integrity and security of client data.
- Collaborate with the Fulfillment Manager to procure new equipment for warehouse stock.
- Handle complex technical issues escalated from Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for server swap/database copy activities.
- Provide after-hours, on-call support for Tier 1 and 2 technicians on a rotating basis, ensuring timely assistance and resolution of urgent issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing MS Windows-based computer systems in a commercial setting, as well as installing and configuring MS SQL on a server and hardware components in personal computers.
- Advanced knowledge of Liberty Software's RXQ and BZQ software applications a plus.
- Expertise in computer hardware, software, printers, scanners, and Microsoft operating systems (both server and workstation).
- Proficiency in TCP/IP networking, including DNS and DHCP technologies, as well as PowerShell
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
