Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Interior Designer specializing in hospitality to join a small design team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing hotel environments, particularly guest rooms, and will be proficient in AutoCAD. This role requires a strong ability to manage time effectively, oversee junior team members, and ensure the successful execution of projects from concept through to construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of hotel guest rooms and related hospitality spaces, ensuring alignment with client vision and brand standards.
- Develop detailed construction documentation and specifications using AutoCAD.
- Manage and mentor junior designers, fostering a collaborative and creative team environment.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits and oversee construction administration to ensure design integrity and quality.
- Maintain project timelines and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of all phases of design.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to continually enhance design offerings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in hospitality interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing hotel guest room projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software (eg, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team of designers.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship will be provided.
