The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior High Performance Computing System Administrator to join the team in either El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; or Tukwila, WA. The Information Technology Infrastructure & Operations team provides and employs best practices when implementing security requirements within an information system including software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques to protect classified and proprietary information. The High Performance Computing (HPC) System Administrator will work with opportunities that include the development and integration of a variety of system hardware and software application(s) supporting our engineering and manufacturing teams. Position Responsibilities: Performs computing delivery system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture
Performs regular maintenance, upgrades, and patching of HPC systems ensuring optimal performance and security
Responsibilities include system administration tasks, including occasional application account management, system / hardware troubleshooting and overall system maintenance in HPC clusters
Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems
Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems
Administers user's system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements
Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning
Mentors, leads and trains others Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Successfully completed a Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or have you been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher)
5+ years of experience in High Performance Computing (HPC)
Experience with one or more HPC job scheduler (e.g. Slurm)
Experience with OS-level Network configuration and troubleshooting
Willing to travel 20% of the time or more as needed Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 10+ years of experience managing closed networks
10+ years of experience with HPC infrastructure
Experience with multi-site and region network design and performance
Experience with server virtualization
Experience with data protection and data replication
Experience with citrix and virtual desktop design and use
Experience with multi-site application architecture and data protection
Experience with multi-site data base design
Experience with data recovery and disaster protection planning
Experience creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers based on VMware
Experience with operating systems (e.g., UNIX, Windows and gateway software, as well as computing security tools (e.g., firewalls, web security techniques, encryption techniques)
Experience with different IT disciplines (e.g., infrastructure, information, application, security, system management, system integration)
Experience with developing PowerShell and Linux scripts to enable consistent, high-quality integration of hardware assets
Experience with scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems
Experience in Agile Methodologies
Experience with a broad range of basic systems and application support
Experience evaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolution
Experience with System Backups, Network switch configuration,
Experience with building and maintaining information systems that comply with Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide / Risk Management Framework (JSIG / RMF) security requirements
