Honeywell's HCE Connected Buildings Product team is looking for an experienced, energetic, and innovative hardware engineer to be based in Richmond, VA. We are a global software and services company that develops and markets Niagara, a M2M software framework that solves the challenges of managing smart devices in real time, over the Internet. With over 1,000,000 instances successfully applied in energy-services, building-automation and industrial-automation, Niagara is the operating system for The Internet of Things . In this role, you will work in a multidisciplinary environment to develop state of the art building automation and power monitoring platform products to run the Niagara application.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and track new product cost from concept through market introduction.
- Develop new product releases within a cross functional environment as part of Tridium's Embedded development team.
- Work with manufacturing engineers to develop manufacturing test requirements, concepts, fixtures, etc.
- Engage with external customers that use our hardware platforms as a reference for developing their own Niagara capable hardware.
- Architect/design analog and digital circuits to meet specifications and re-use objectives.
- Schematic capture and simulation using Mentor Graphics tools.
- PCB layout using Mentor Graphics tools.
- Hold and/or participate in design peer reviews.
- Plan, perform and oversee product verification testing and certification testing
- Oversee regulatory agency approvals including CE, UL, FCC, and others.
- Selection and evaluation of components for new designs.
- Liaison between Design and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure that innovative new product designs can be manufactured cost effectively with high quality.

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as materials science, engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of product development engineering experience including direct manufacturing experience.
- 3+ years of UL/EMC testing for custom Embedded hardware products
WE VALUE
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience designing to meet CE and UL requirements for emissions, susceptibility, and safety
- Experience with high-volume device assembly and PCB fabrication practices.
- Excellent problem solving skills, self-motivation, leadership and team oriented.
- Strong skills in digital and analog system architecture, schematic development.
- Experience with power supply design.
- Experience with PCB layout using Mentor Graphics tools.
- Experience working with mechanical resources and plastics vendors for product creation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Six Sigma including Green Belt, Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification.
