Senior Hardware Engineer - FPGA & Board Design We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer with expertise in FPGA and board-level design to contribute to the development of innovative electronic products across industries such as industrial, healthcare/life sciences, and aerospace/defense. This role involves full lifecycle hardware development, from concept through manufacturing transition, and includes close collaboration with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing, and test engineers.
Key Responsibilities - Architect and design digital electronic circuits for a variety of high-performance applications.
- Use HDL languages such as VHDL or SystemVerilog to model hardware behavior, including development of UVM-based test benches.
- Optimize FPGA designs for power, performance, and area.
- Create fully self-checking test benches with both directed and constrained random test cases.
- Optimize FPGA pinouts and guide the PCB layout of supporting circuitry.
- Collaborate with digital, analog, software, mechanical, and systems engineers to refine and validate hardware designs.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in electronic hardware design.
- Proven track record of leading and owning electronic product development.
- Proficient with FPGA design tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or similar for design entry, synthesis, timing analysis/closure, and place-and-route.
- Experienced in schematic capture using tools such as Cadence, Altium, or Mentor, as well as simulation tools like MATLAB and Simulink.
- Strong understanding of both analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience designing with microprocessors and microcontrollers.
- Familiarity with common digital interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet), memory devices, and high-speed digital design.
- Knowledge of EMC/ESD and electrical safety design standards and practices.
- Skilled in using electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Experience with test verification, board bring-up, and qualification testing (e.g., EMC, safety).
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles.
- Ability to engage with suppliers for key components and assemblies.
- Comfortable participating in business development activities and communicating directly with customers as a technical expert.
