Due to continued business growth our marine client in Aberdeen is looking to add a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to their team, on a permanent basis.

As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting Engineering/ Marine departments in the planning and execution of offshore mooring systems. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will carry out a range of geotechnical engineering activities, ranging from perform anchor FEED studies to managing the design and installation of offshore foundations.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineer, or similar field.
  • An understanding of site investigation techniques and interpretation.
  • Experience in performing geotechnical assessments, including the design of offshore foundations.
  • Understanding of offshore design codes and standards (DNV, API, ISO, ABS, etc.)
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports and presentations.
  • Experience in liaising with classification societies and obtaining design approval for offshore foundations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform design and analysis of offshore foundations, such as driven pile, suction caissons, DEAs, etc.
  • Perform feasibility studies and risk assessments for offshore projects.
    Participate in R&D activities, which includes assisting in undertaking of tests in company inhouse geotechnical testing facilities.
  • Manage 3rd party contractors in the execution of the design, fabrication, and installation of offshore foundations.
  • Responsible for managing the geotechnical engineering portion of the project, including the correspondence with external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Marine and Survey departments in the planning and execution of projects.
  • Responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
