We are on the lookout for motivated Full Stack Software Engineers eager to merge data and cutting-edge technologies. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division, you will play a pivotal role in transforming Capital One's foundational cloud infrastructure, focusing on observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability.
What You Will Do: - Lead an array of diverse technology projects along with a dedicated team of developers with extensive expertise in distributed microservices and full stack systems, designing solutions to address the company's regulatory requirements.
- Share your enthusiasm for keeping abreast of technology trends by experimenting, learning new technologies, and actively participating in both internal and external tech communities.
- Mentor future engineers and collaborate closely with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions, significantly impacting millions of Americans in their pursuit of financial empowerment.
- Utilize a range of programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go; work with Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, implement Container Orchestration services using Docker and Kubernetes, and leverage numerous AWS tools and services.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience (internship experience not included)
- At least 1 year of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree
- 7+ years of experience with languages such as Java, SQL, Python, React, Angular, or Go
- 4+ years of API Design/Development experience
- 4+ years in Data Modeling/Standardization/Schema Design
- 3+ years of experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or others)
- 4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
- 1+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of experience with Agile practices
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship or related employment authorization. The salary range for this full-time role varies by location, and for candidates based in Richmond, VA: $175,800 - $200,700; in McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700; and Plano, TX: $175,800 - $200,700.
