Description:The Lockheed Martin Software Factory within Enterprise Operations consists of a strong DevSecOps culture. Our skilled engineers have discipline and domain specific experience and training, best in industry software development practices and patterns, and cutting-edge tools for software design, development, configuration management, quality, security, and deployment.
The selected candidate will function as Full Stack Software Engineer supporting the Lockheed Martin Software Factory AI development activities within the Enterprise Operations business area. This Enterprise IT Full Stack Engineer position is responsible for developing, modifying, testing deploying and maintaining AI applications in support of the Lockheed Martin Software Factory. The selected candidate will be a thought leader and a key technical resource on the Software Factory full stack engineering team. In addition to hands on enablement of program teams this position will design, develop, and release reusable components of a DevOps pipeline to be consumed by the enterprise.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Design, build, and maintain user-facing applications that focus on software development, and backend services that leverage Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Develop full-stack solutions primarily using TypeScript, React, and Bash, with opportunities to work in Python and Go
• Take a core role in developing our flagship Visual Studio Code Extension; prior experience building or contributing to VS Code Extensions is highly preferred
• Deploy and manage services on Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) using GitLab CI and ArgoCD
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ship features quickly and iteratively in a fast-paced environment
• Work with the OpenAI API and other LLM ecosystems to build novel user experiences and tools
• Embrace rapid iteration, experimentation, and a "fail fast" approach to building in the rapidly evolving Generative AI space
• Contribute to system design, code reviews, and drive best practices in software development
• Ability to present project status, concepts and overviews
• Periodic travel to Lockheed Martin sites may be required, as well as the ability to work in a virtual environment

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with TypeScript or a strong background in multiple software development languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, etc)
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline automation including but not limited to Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Concourse - Full Stack Development experience preferably utilizing DevOps practices
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Experience developing application interfaces, translations and transformations
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with full life cycle development and sustainment, leveraging a disciplined engineering process for both implementation as well as Operations and Maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver exceptional customer service
Desired Skills:
• Willingness to operate in an interactive local and virtual team environment using paired programming and test driven development processes
• Front end development experience
• Experience developing or maintaining Visual Studio Code Extensions
• Background working with or building AI Coding Assistants or similar developer productivity tools
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience with production-grade deployments
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt to the fast-evolving AI landscape
• Track record of being a self-starter and strong independent contributor

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $102,800 - $178,135. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
