Role Summary:

Join CVS Health as a senior in Engineering where you will work closely with peers and clients developing a diverse set of technologies as part of our Claims adjudication team where we are beginning the exciting work to modernize our systems hosting business critical applications.

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud/Java Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team focused on building systems into a cutting-edge, cloud-native platform hosted on Cloud Platform (Azure/GCP).

As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in developing microservices that drive the state-of-the art Pharmacy Services - Claim Processing Application. You will work on integrating cloud-native solutions, enhancing performance, and ensuring seamless operation within a highly scalable and secure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development and frontend development, system design, and a strong understanding of cloud-native software engineering principles.

Preference is for candidates to work hybrid out of our corporate office in Richardson, TX; remote will be considered for candidates not in close proximity to an office.

What you will do:
  • Design and develop seamless backend and UI based solutions and support development activities with agile mindset.
  • Contribute to research to create and optimize solutions with a learning and innovative mindset to adapt to new technologies as needed.
  • Review vendor offerings and guide junior engineers to develop and maintain scalable applications on Cloud Platform.
  • Translating requirements into engineering design artifacts and data models.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure quality standards are met and improved upon.
  • Lead applications across all phases of SDLC and help build DevOps mindset in Team by championing operations side of Engineering.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in all environments.
  • Demonstrate independence in thoughtful decision making and promote efficiency.
  • Collaborate with technical leaders, vendors, cross functional teams to provision estimates, develop overall implementation plan, and serve as a Lead as required.
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders about project status, technical challenges, and solutions.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Senior Full stack Cloud Software Engineer delivering integrated solutions including the following:
  • Strong programming skills in full stack Java development using frameworks such as Angular JS and Spring and Hibernate.
  • Strong background in RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP-based APIs with Java and microservices framework.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with a public cloud provider (Azure/Google Cloud)
  • 2+ years working with pub/sub tools like Kafka or similar
  • 3+ years of experience with database design/development (Postgres or similar)
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD, or similar)
  • Strong collaboration skills for aligning cross-functional teams on priorities and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience overall.
  • Bachelors in a STEM field, Master's preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Platform (GCP/Azure)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts
  • Strong understanding of microservice best practices and distributed systems
  • Experience implementing AI solutions.
  • Experience or exposure to AS400 based systems.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
