This Technical Service Manager helps oversee a brand new, state-of-the-art foundry operation.
Candidates must have foundry experience
This role is a key member of the local leadership team and is responsible for leading service delivery to meet and exceed external and internal customer expectations. The role will align and deliver out strategic objectives for our service growth plan. The role will lead and drive key initiatives within the service teams and influence individual performance by greater management focus. Enhanced business performance will result because of the position's influence into each direct report's performance and driving Engineering results through set goals and objectives. The position will provide a forum for sharing business improvement and implementing best working practices within the operation. This role will provide supervisory oversight to local Engineering talent, including approximately six direct and/or indirect reports.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• To provide technical product support and effective management of product quality and service complaints and claims. The role will provide technical training and support market introduction of innovative products and technologies.
• Plans and directs implementation of equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and production yields for existing products.
• Acts as engineering liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible. Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, planning and scheduling to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, cost and schedule
• Oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations.
• Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs.
• Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
• Ensuring best practices are effectively communicated and implemented across division processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or equivalent experience
- 5+ years progressive Engineering experience
- Must have Foundry experience
- Ideally will have experience with Green Sand / Brass / Copper
