Senior Flight Test Engineer (Grp 3) at Eglin AFB, FL.
The successful applicant will provide Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) flight test engineering and conduct detachment operations for ground and flight test efforts in support of SOCOM Special Operations Adaptive Airborne Enterprise (A2E) programs and other PEO Fixed Wing programs. Tasks will include; support of development, testing, training, and fielding of urgent special operations A2E capabilities; assisting in development and execution of acquisition strategies to modify, procure, and field precision guided weapons; ensuring standardized processes across all test teams.
Support detachment efforts to meet programmatic timelines and overcome resource and schedule challenges
Develop test planning documentation
Conduct ground and flight tests of UAS and other weapon systems
Analyze data and write mission test reports
Facilitate the safety coordination process

Responsibilities Provide flight test engineering expertise for USSOCOM weapon system development.
Act as Test Conductor for A2E programs involving Group 1-5 Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and their associated networks
Support and participate in flight test event planning, test execution, data management, data collection, and data distribution
Develop and review test objectives, test plans, and other required documentation
Provide requirements for test venues and test assets
Prepare test cards and checklists and coordinate post mission data analysis activities
Apply technical expertise to assess test range, weapon system, or technology project readiness for testing and advise senior test personnel on test readiness
Support preparation of mission execution schedules, logistics coordination, and track status and risk
Interface with other government and range organizations and development contractors
Strive to meet programmatic timelines and overcome resource and schedule challenges, as needed
Facilitate the safety of the test execution process
Qualifications Required Qualifications: Masters of Science degree in engineering or science
10+ years in test and evaluation with a focus on Aviation developmental testing
Understanding and significant experience with small UAS (sUAS) systems, subsystems, and support equipment
Experience/knowledge of avionics, mission systems, munitions systems, and comm/radar systems
Working knowledge of DoD and/or Air Force UAS test and evaluation policies
Experience preparing flight test documents including test plans, safety reviews, and test cards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Active Secret Clearance
Experience with Group 1-3 sUAS testing on DoD test ranges
Ability to obtain FAA Class 3 flight physical
Ability to fly on military aircraft and operate in Ground Control Stations (GCS) or Control Rooms
Desired Qualifications: Active Top-Secret clearance
Test Pilot School Graduate
Experience preparing briefings and documentation for military leadership
Experience working with the Air Force Seek Eagle Office (AFSEO) and the Non-Nuclear Munitions Safety Board (NNMSB)
Experience with MQ-9 and/or MQ-1 testing
Experience testing at various DoD test ranges
