Senior Grant Administrator: minimum 5 years professional level experience working with sponsored research proposals and budgets. Hiring range: $80,840 to $101,050
Grant Administrator:3-5 years professional experience working with sponsored research proposals and budgets. Hiring range: $71,480 to $89,350
Grant Administrator:1 year professional and/or clerical experience working with sponsored research proposals and budgets. Hiring range: $64,840 to $81,050
The Arts & Sciences Service Center is looking for a Grant/Senior Grant Administrator who will work as part of a customer-focused dynamic team providing research support to our faculty members with external funding. The Morrissey College Service Center supports over 500 faculty members and 100 Principal Investigators across 22 academic departments.
The Grant/Senior Grant Administrator will be responsible for providing post-award support to a diverse population of Principal Investigators, as well as being able to provide pre-award support as needed. This position will be assigned a group of faculty members with active research labs that require support with an in-depth understanding of the regulations governing their spending. This role includes providing support of both internally and externally funded research projects.
Primary responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary liaison between faculty and the Office for Sponsored Programs.
- Responsible for the interpretation and communication of institutional and sponsor policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with Principal Investigators throughout the grant life cycle to maintain fiscal and administrative compliance with sponsor guidelines.
- Analyze budgets for correct calculation of salaries, fringe benefits, materials, equipment, subaward costs and indirect costs.
- Initiate the budget setup for new and continuing awards.
- Work with Principal Investigators to ensure correct allocation of costs, for grants and internal research budgets.
- Initiate and process of hiring and payroll extension of research staff, working with Human Resources and other departments as necessary to complete process.
- Initiate and process purchase requisitions, payment vouchers and reimbursements, working with Procurement and other departments as necessary to complete processes.
- Review appropriateness of budget re-allocations and transactions in accordance with funding source guidelines.
- Prepare monthly reports and forecast of internal and external funds available for Principal Investigators.
- Initiate budget transfers and costs transfers when necessary.
- Responsible for timely closeout of expired projects.
- Maintain timely communication and coordination with involved parties to resolve issues.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree is required.
- Senior Grant Administrator - 5 years professional level experience working with sponsored research proposals and budgets.
- Grant Administrator: 1 year professional and/or administrative experience working with sponsored research proposals and budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, team based, deadline oriented environment.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a customer service environment is a plus.
- Academic experience.
- Master's degree for Senior Grant Administrator.
