LUMENTUM is actively seeking a highly skilled Firmware Development Engineer to join our Transmission Team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that the firmware for our Transceiver modules meets international compliance standards. We are looking for motivated and self-driven candidates with a strong background in embedded systems firmware, digital logic, and microcontroller systems. Close collaboration with our test and hardware engineering teams is essential for success.
Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and test firmware in compliance with CMIS Standards.
- Design and implement DSP and MSA state machine interfaces.
- Develop encryption and decryption algorithms.
- Conduct schematic design reviews with the hardware team and recommend necessary hardware modifications.
- Coordinate design communications with global teams across various locations.
- Perform both Black Box and White Box testing on firmware.
- Support customer testing of transceiver modules, troubleshooting firmware as needed.
- Upgrade GUI and Analysis GUI using C .
- Write Python scripts to assist with unit testing and ensure repeatability in testing processes.
- Manage firmware versions, tags, and branches using a source control system.
- Create and manage firmware releases within an Agile Configuration Management System for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with other teams to validate and propose test cases for testing and regression purposes.
- Act as the lead engineer in designing key modules.
- Conduct failure analysis and design, as well as apply techniques to troubleshoot the Transceiver Module.
- Document firmware behavior, implementation procedures, and user guides comprehensively.
