A Start Up Company is looking for a high energy, detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the accounting team as a Senior Accountant. This role is based out of our New York City Headquarters, is a hybrid position and will be reporting to the Controller.

Job Details

As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you will play a pivotal role within our dynamic Accounting + Finance team.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements including the balance sheet, income statement, and P&L.
2. Prepare period-ending (monthly/quarterly) journal entries and accruals with supporting reconciliations
3. Performs analytical review fluxes including researching variances between actuals' vs budget
4. Perform monthly reconciliations
5. Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including the preparation and posting of journal entries and accruals.
6. Support the audit process, working closely with internal and external auditors.
7. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
8. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
9. Develop and implement internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
10. Assist with system ERP improvements and maintenance to become an expert in the ERP system assisting and training others
11. Conduct frequent ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed

To be considered for the Senior Accountant position, you must have:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or MBA is strongly preferred.
2. Prior Audit Experience. Big 4 a plus, but not necessary
3. At least 1 full year as Corporate Senior Accountant
4. Experience with ERP systems. NetSuite is a plus
