Clinical Fellow (Equivalent of ST6+) in Paediatric Gastroenterology for Nutrition and Intestinal Failure Rehabilitation
The Paediatric Gastroenterology team at Great Ormond Street Hospital is inviting applications for a Clinical Fellow in the subspecialty of Nutrition and Intestinal Failure Rehabilitation within the Paediatric Gastroenterology service.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates to gain additional subspecialty experience in Paediatric Gastroenterology in a supportive environment at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The successful applicant will oversee senior middle grade supervision of inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring continuity of care for patients and families throughout treatment.
The initial appointment is for 12 months starting September 2025, with potential for extension by mutual agreement.
In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing senior middle grade care for both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring seamless care for patients and families.
Applicants must pass pre-employment checks and be available for an immediate start. There may be opportunities for other ST6 positions later in the year.
Main duties of the job
This established post in the Unit of Nutrition and Intestinal Failure Rehabilitation is suitable for a trained Paediatrician at ST6+ level or equivalent, including post-CCT fellows. The role offers training in Gastroenterology, focusing on managing children requiring inpatient and home parenteral nutrition (PN) and those referred for small intestinal transplantation. The unit is recognized by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) as a training centre. The post is not HEE recognized.
The post involves delivering high-quality clinical care within a specialized gastroenterology ward and outreach services, managing children with complex enteral nutrition needs and intestinal failure.

GMC registration with the GMC and NHS experience. MRCPCH part II or equivalent is essential for all ST6 positions.

- Experience in paediatric gastroenterology (>1 year post-graduate)
- MRCP, MRCPCH, or equivalent
- Experience of diagnostic endoscopy
- Higher degree (MSc, MPhil) related to the discipline
