Description

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Estimator (Public Works Construction) - El Dorado County

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of estimates across all project phases, including conceptual, design, preconstruction, procurement, and construction
  • Review and analyze construction documents such as drawings, specifications, contracts, RFPs/RFQs, and schematics to support estimating activities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates to support project pursuits and acquisition efforts
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards
  • Apply various estimating tools and techniques, incorporating current market and regional pricing, labor analysis, and other cost-impact factors
  • Evaluate proposals and bids from contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for accuracy and alignment with project goals
  • Participate in project meetings, maintaining documentation and tracking estimate-related information and progress
  • Support business development efforts through contributions to proposals, presentations, and cost/performance data for client pursuite

Profile

A successful Senior Estimator (Public Works Construction) - El Dorado County

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years of estimating experience in the construction industry
  • Proven track record with negotiated projects in the Education, Healthcare, and Public Works sectors
  • Familiarity with both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project delivery methods
  • Ability to identify and leverage cost-saving opportunities throughout the estimating process
  • Strong understanding of current market conditions and industry trends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff software

Job Offer

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $155,000
