Key Responsibilities of a Senior Estimator (Public Works Construction) - El Dorado County
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness of estimates across all project phases, including conceptual, design, preconstruction, procurement, and construction
- Review and analyze construction documents such as drawings, specifications, contracts, RFPs/RFQs, and schematics to support estimating activities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates to support project pursuits and acquisition efforts
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards
- Apply various estimating tools and techniques, incorporating current market and regional pricing, labor analysis, and other cost-impact factors
- Evaluate proposals and bids from contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for accuracy and alignment with project goals
- Participate in project meetings, maintaining documentation and tracking estimate-related information and progress
- Support business development efforts through contributions to proposals, presentations, and cost/performance data for client pursuite
Profile
A successful Senior Estimator (Public Works Construction) - El Dorado County
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of estimating experience in the construction industry
- Proven track record with negotiated projects in the Education, Healthcare, and Public Works sectors
- Familiarity with both Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project delivery methods
- Ability to identify and leverage cost-saving opportunities throughout the estimating process
- Strong understanding of current market conditions and industry trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff software
