We're looking for an amazing Senior Principal Enterprise Solution Architect to fill this role. You'll be responsible for responsible for bridging the gap between the business' needs and the IT strategic roadmap. Accountability includes ensuring that all IT infrastructure, platforms, and middleware software are scalable, secure, and properly designed to support corporate and brand business requirements, operational processes, and communication/data gaps between disparate applications. The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT professional having worked closely with IT leadership within the travel or hospitality industry. They will lead design conversations between cross-functional IT teams, provide strategic direction to individual team solutions architects, recommend middleware solutions, and approve the final architecture to validate the solution aligns with brand priorities, drives results leading to lower costs, increases productivity, and supports more efficient business practices across the brand.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for implementing new solutions and leveraging existing technology to optimize business processes, extend ROI, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation.
  • Responsible for evaluating enterprise-wide technology ecosystems to identify synergies and constraints that adversely impact business operations.
  • Recommends strategic solutions to address the technical and process gaps that exist between systems with and outside of brand IT.
  • Provide strategic guidance to IT tower leaders and solutions architects to help them address business problems and escalations.
  • Leads the development of a comprehensive middleware roadmap that supports short-term and long-term business priorities.
  • Designs the technical architecture in partnership with the IT product owners based on business requirements and identified process gaps.
  • Provides final technical approval of all middleware software architectural plans
  • Remains current on technologies used throughout the travel and cruise industries to address operational gaps between disparate systems and operational/financial processes.
  • Recommends off the shelf solutions and integration platforms to automate repetitive tasks and processes, and to connect systems, data, and devices with APIs.
  • Evaluates all AI projects to identify synergies between the various IT towers and development teams to ensure speed to market and the most efficient use of human and capital resources.
  • Fosters collaboration between all IT towers leading strategic and tactical calls to ensure timely deliverables to the business and continuous buy-in amongst executive leadership.
  • Ensures all solutions meet security and compliance standards including PCI, privacy, data, etc.
  • Provides education on new solutions along with technical expertise to the IT technical teams for their personal use and for the creation of their training materials.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of cruise/travel business processes and systems. Technical integration and software development expertise.
  • Solid understanding of application architecture, design, Integration, and administration
  • Experience with systems integration and development
  • Experience leading large-scale technology initiatives, managing budgets, and delivering measurable results.
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions
  • 10+ years directly or indirectly leading and/or influencing other solutions architects.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Working knowledge of corporate IT disciplines and group dynamics. Establish team mentorship and individual career development programs for team members by skill set.
  • Prior experience in leading/mentoring execution focused development teams
  • 10+ years proven solutions architecture experience
  • 5+ years software development experience
  • 5+ years data architecture experience
This position follows the Company's schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) with flexibility to work remotely the remainder of the week.

  • Base Salary Range: $147,000 to $198,500. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
