e&e is seeking a Senior Enterprise Scheduling & Automation Administrator for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA.
The Senior Enterprise Scheduling & Automation Administrator plays a pivotal role in optimizing IT operations by leading the design, deployment, and management of enterprise-wide job scheduling and automation solutions. This individual will leverage advanced automation tools-primarily Stonebranch Workload Automation-to integrate and orchestrate tasks across diverse IT environments, including mainframe, on-premises, and hybrid platforms. This is a highly technical, strategic position that supports business continuity, operational efficiency, and systems scalability.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide automated job scheduling solutions aligned with operational goals.
- Utilize Stonebranch automation tools to evaluate deployment requirements, design strategies, install/configure components, and ensure system stability.
- Collaborate with IT operations and cross-functional teams to create and optimize workflows using event-driven triggers.
- Proactively monitor tasks, force-finish or re-run failed jobs, and assess outputs for performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex scheduling issues and optimize workflows for efficiency.
- Create and maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, and lifecycle management plans.
- Generate performance reports and task forecasts for leadership.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, developers, system administrators, and external partners to align automation strategies.
- Review and manage calendar schedules to avoid job conflicts and account for task dependencies.
- Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level scheduling and automation.
- Expert-level knowledge of Stonebranch automation tools and technologies.
- Strong understanding of task configuration, triggers, actions, and lifecycle management.
- Experience in IT infrastructure operations across mainframe, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
- Proficiency in Bash/Korn Shell scripting.
- Analytical problem-solving and the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with PowerShell and Python scripting.
- Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Basic understanding of networking and client access troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of public cloud deployment strategies
