Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $102,500.00 - $121,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

Essential Functions
  • Lead the development of data quality standards and guidelines across the organization
  • Ensure the adherence to data governance policies and procedures
  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trend and patterns
  • Drive continuous improvement of data governance policies and procedures
  • Mentor and coach team members
  • Assist in developing Metadata Management practices by defining a framework, appropriate tools, and success criteria
  • Lead the development of and implementation of data governance policies, best practices, and procedures
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and guidelines
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of complex data sets and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Create training programs on data governance best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Expert level knowledge of data governance principles and practices
  • Expert understanding of data management best practices
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance and thought leadership on data governance
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members
  • Proven informal leadership and project management skills
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in data governance or a related field required
  • 7+ years experience with SQL, Python, Power BI or other reporting tools required
  • 7+ years experience with data governance tools (such as Informatica, Collibra, Talend, DataHub, etc.) required
  • 3+ years experience of leading large scale data governance initiatives or projects required
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or similar, including implementing data governance best practices preferred
  • Experience in medallion architecture and strong understanding of data lineage and table relationships within cloud data platforms preferred
  • Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog for data discovery and governance across multi-environment (dev/test/prod) cloud ecosystems preferred
  • AI Governance Experience preferred

This compensation range is for the Senior Enterprise Data Governance Analyst job and contemplates a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to location, skill sets, education, relevant experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $102,500 to $121,000 annually This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
