This position is part of the Risk Technology organization, where we develop robust, data-driven tools utilizing machine learning to proactively manage risks, ensuring the safety of our business, customers, and communities.
Key Responsibilities: - Establish and enforce data architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines to enhance platform efficiency and ensure reliable data for insights and downstream use.
- Lead the development of data models and ontologies to standardize data definitions and relationships across systems.
- Work closely with teams and stakeholders to create data standards, manage metadata, and uphold data quality frameworks.
- Design scalable architectures that effectively integrate varied data sources while minimizing redundancy.
- Collaborate with engineering, data analysis, data science, and business teams to align data solutions with organizational requirements and mentor teams in best practices.
- Create thorough architectural documentation and effectively communicate data architecture principles to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation.
- Partner with fellow senior engineers across the organization to identify and promote investments in shared data services and platforms.
- Engage with senior product leads to comprehend business strategies, value propositions, priorities, and success criteria.
Essential Skills: - Experience with AWS Cloud data technologies, including RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and Glue ETL.
- Proven background in designing event-based stream processing solutions with tools such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, and Flink.
- Ability to design and implement high availability data replication for critical applications.
- Experience in crafting data management solutions that ensure quality and effective metadata management.
- Demonstrated success in developing end-to-end data pipelines for both operational and analytical needs.
- Proficiency in coding with Python or Scala and expertise in SQL.
- In-depth knowledge of AVRO, Parquet, and DeltaLake data formats.
- Background in various data storage technologies, including relational, document, key/value, graph, and object stores.
- Capability to work collaboratively with product owners in defining requirements for data initiatives.
- Adept at breaking down complex problems into manageable tasks to facilitate continual architecture delivery.
- Understanding of the data infrastructure needs related to machine learning and AI.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree.
- At least 7 years of experience in Data Architecture and Data Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years in data modeling and platform design.
- At least 2 years of experience in cloud computing, particularly within AWS.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience with ontology standards for defining a domain.
- At least 2 years of experience using Python, SQL, or Scala.
- At least 1 year of experience in deploying machine learning models.
- Experience with knowledge graphs.
- Familiarity with industry standards related to data.
- Experience with data mesh, data lakehouse architectures, and real-time data pipelines.
