We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Engineer - Observability Platforms to play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our observability, monitoring, and logging infrastructure. This role will support the company's mission-critical applications by ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability through state-of-the-art observability solutions. The ideal candidate is an expert in observability technologies, has a strong understanding of monitoring strategies, and is comfortable working in fast-paced, cloud-based environments.
As a Senior Engineer, you will collaborate closely with DevOps, security, application development, and infrastructure teams to integrate observability best practices across the organization. Your contributions will ensure seamless system monitoring, faster issue resolution, and proactive performance optimization. This role will be based onsite in Atlanta, GA.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Observability Platform Development: Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and tracing platforms, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Tool Implementation & Management: Configure and manage observability tools such a s Splunk & New Relic, optimizing them for enterprise use.
- Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using observability insights to ensure smooth operations.
- Automation & Continuous Improvement: Develop automated solutions for monitoring and alerting, minimizing manual intervention while improving system reliability.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and application teams to integrate observability best practices across all environments.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze system performance metrics and logs, generating meaningful reports and insights to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure observability solutions comply with security policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Capacity Planning & Optimization: Assess infrastructure needs, optimize system performance, and scale observability tools based on business growth.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create detailed documentation and provide training to internal teams on observability tools and best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS - 4 Year Degree and/orBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, DevOps, SRE, or software engineering with a focus on observability and monitoring.
- Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing observability platforms.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Technical Skills:
- Expertise in observability tools such as Splunk, & New Relic.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing technologies.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible).
Problem-Solving & Collaboration:
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with DevOps, security, and engineering teams.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, or observability tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL, SRE principles, and incident management frameworks.
- Experience with AI/ML-based monitoring solutions.
