We are Rolls-Royce SMR and we're doing something that's never been done before. We're revolutionising an industry. That's a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy.
We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Senior Engineer - Power Station Integration, to be involved in an industry-leading, cutting-edge design project for a new type of power station.
The Senior Systems Engineer will develop & deliver design solutions that meet the required attributes of the RR SMR power station (e.g., net power, cost, availability) by integrating functional design and undertaking design optioneering as a key member of the Power Station Integration team.
The Power Station Integration team focuses on both the functional plant design and the associated measures of performance. This role may involve aspects of both, including using systems engineering methods to integrate solutions across the power station, flowing requirements to lower-tier systems, ensuring the whole power station's requirements are met, and identifying and driving improvements and risk mitigations where the attributes are affected.
- Own and independently manage the design of Power Station Capabilities and oversee the performance and attributes of the power station related to these, such as net power output, availability, and product cost.
- Utilise experience and systems engineering techniques to deliver Power Station design solutions against product requirements.
- Drive the delivery of performance improvements and risk mitigations.
Support the business in understanding the impact of variations internally and externally on the MOPs.
- Ensure requirements flow to lower-tier systems to enable the overarching power station attributes and objectives to be met.
- Elicit capability requirements.
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary design teams to develop the capability design.
- Deliver plant-level solutions to meet key attributes.
Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. But we'll let you in on a secret: there's no such thing as a 'perfect' candidate. If you feel you meet 75% of the requirements for this role, we would love to hear from you.
If you are considering a career move or a sector jump, please get in touch; we welcome applications from people with transferable skills.
