Senior Engineer - Equipment Systems Integration

As a Senior Engineer - Equipment Systems Integration, you will spearhead cross-functional engineering projects focusing on equipment design, electrical systems development, and industrial controls integration. This role entails hands-on project ownership from conception through installation and startup, particularly across multi-site capital deployments. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, you will ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery, centering your work around process innovation and automation to enhance the functionality, efficiency, and safety of both new and existing equipment.

Focus:
- Lead automation and controls projects across multiple locations, with 30-35% travel for site installations, commissioning, and training.
- Design and program PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems using platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens, including legacy system integration.
- Evaluate and enhance safety features of control systems to meet or exceed company and industry standards.
- Create and update detailed schematics, technical documentation, and specifications for electrical and automation systems
- Coordinate with vendors and integrators for material procurement, technical consultation, and on-site implementation.
- Oversee collaboration with vendors and system integrators to source materials, provide technical guidance, and support field implementation
- Mentor junior engineers and support recruitment activities within the engineering department.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through controls optimization, Lean initiatives, and technology upgrades.
- Ensure continuous improvement through Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and lessons-learned documentation post-project closeout.
Skill Set:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in industrial controls engineering or electrical systems, preferably in manufacturing or packaging environments.
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle project management-from scoping and budgeting to execution and startup.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens), and experience with HMI and SCADA systems.
- Comfortable working with legacy control systems and upgrading outdated infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partners.
- Willingness to travel up to 35% for project oversight and implementation.
