About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for a next-generation robotic surgical device. This is a critical role within a fast-paced, regulated medical device environment. You will partner closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop high-performance systems that meet stringent regulatory standards and deliver innovation to operating rooms around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Design and document electrical systems including schematics, layout, and BOMs using Altium
- Develop and test motor control circuits for 10W-100W motors, ensuring robust performance and regulatory compliance
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis on electrical hardware
- Prepare systems and documentation in support of design verification (DV) and regulatory submissions
- Ensure compliance with EMI, EMC, and ESD requirements; develop effective shielding and grounding strategies
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate and validate complex subsystems
- Maintain detailed design history files and support ongoing design documentation backlog
- Support board-level testing and validation of multi-controller systems in a regulated environment
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware design, preferably in medical devices
- Proficient in Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout
- Strong background in motor control circuit design and resolving source current issues
- Experience working with EMI, EMC, ESD compliance and shielding strategies
- Proven skills in testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Experience working in fast-paced, regulated environments (FDA, IEC standards)
