Senior Electrical Engineer

1. Lead technical projects from concept to commercialization, including designing, prototyping, and testing electronic systems focusing on low-noise analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuits.
2. Plan projects, design and develop electrical engineering solutions, generate necessary documentation, and perform verification of the designed component/system.
3. Support the design and development of new products in the portfolio and design PCBs including component selection, schematic entry, and layout review using electronic design tools including OrCAD and Altium for schematic entry and PSpice for simulation.
4. Perform PCB bring-up, characterizing, and testing of PCBs and PCBA troubleshooting including debugging and resolving software and hardware integration issues.
5. Support the lifecycle of the existing PCBs and associated components by identifying alternatives or via redesign of PCBs.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful system integration, design execution, and delivery of products.
7. Design, develop, and optimize drivers and firmware in C/C for microcontrollers in embedded systems and implement communication protocols including UART, I2C, SPI, USB, and BLE.
8. Develop system architecture focusing on hardware interfaces, sensing components, communication protocols, software, and hardware connectivity.
9. Support root cause analysis of failures during manufacturing of instrument or field returns.
10. Debug and troubleshoot complex electrical systems and implement solutions to improve reliability and performance.
11. Support regulatory submissions and approvals, including preparing technical documents, gathering test data, analyzing, and creating reports using Excel, MATLAB, and Python.
12. Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure successful product delivery.

Requires 2% travel nationally to trade shows across the United States to meet with clients
Requires two (2) years experience in the job offered or related occupation. Experience must include:

a. Designing electronics focusing on low-noise analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuits.
b. Designing PCBs including component selection, schematic entry, and layout review.
c. Using electronic design tools including OrCAD and Altium for schematic entry and PSpice for simulation.
d. Experience in PCB bring-up, characterization, and testing of PCBs and PCBA troubleshooting.
e. Gathering test data, analyzing, and creating reports using Excel, MATLAB, and Python.
f. Working with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful system integration and design execution.
g. Developing and debugging firmware in C/C for microcontrollers in embedded systems focusing on hardware, interfaces, and communication protocols including UART, I2C, and SPI.
h. Developing system architecture focusing on hardware interfaces, sensing components, communication protocols, software, and hardware connectivity.
Requires a Masters (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
