Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) - Baltimore, MD (Onsite)

ABGI Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) with experience in hospital, telecommunications, and institutional facilities to join a respected MEP engineering and consulting firm based in Baltimore, MD. This is a full-time, onsite role with an opportunity to lead complex projects while contributing to energy-efficient, sustainable electrical design across mission-critical sectors.

About the Role:

In this role, you will lead and manage the electrical design process on a wide variety of technically complex projects-ranging from healthcare to telecommunications and government facilities. You will guide projects from conceptual design through construction documentation, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and represent the firm in client meetings and site visits. The ideal candidate has a deep background in building electrical systems, a Maryland PE license, and a passion for high-performance design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute electrical designs for a variety of building types, including hospitals, labs, higher education, data centers, and telecom facilities.
  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, load calculations, cost estimates, and perform field inspections.
  • Develop conceptual designs from client meetings and translate them into actionable project deliverables.
  • Lead coordination of normal and emergency power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear).
  • Prepare proposals in response to RFPs, assist in defining project objectives, and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and site coordination activities.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, and budget.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Maryland.
  • 8-20 years of relevant experience in electrical design for buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, including UPS, emergency power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Experience working in healthcare, data center, institutional, or mission-critical environments.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Autodesk Revit preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and lead design teams.
  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SKM Power Tools (fault/coordination/arc Flash studies).
  • Familiarity with lighting design software such as LightPro or Visual Lighting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows OS.
  • Experience coordinating with nurse call, fire alarm, and security systems.
