Join our innovative engineering team as a Electrical Engineer, where you will contribute to the development of rugged, high-reliability power conversion solutions for military and industrial applications. You'll play a key role in the design, analysis, and support of advanced AC-DC, DC-DC, and DC-AC systems, with output power levels exceeding 1KW. Our engineers take projects from concept to production, working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and end customers.
Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Design and develop high-performance switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) for military and industrial use
- Utilize a range of converter topologies and control methods to optimize efficiency, power density, and reliability
- Conduct detailed circuit simulation, schematic capture, and design reviews using tools such as Altium and PSpice
- Ensure designs meet applicable EMI/EMC, thermal, and environmental requirements (MIL-STD-704, 461, 810)
- Package designs for rugged environments including attention to shock, vibration, and thermal management
- Prepare documentation packages including schematics, bills of materials, test plans, and technical reports
- Troubleshoot issues during prototyping, validation, and production phases
- Interface with customers to interpret specifications and define custom solutions
- Lead or contribute to internal project teams and support qualification testing and certification efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the design and development of power electronics for high-reliability or MIL-spec applications
- Demonstrated experience with power levels exceeding 1KW and a strong understanding of SMPS topologies (e.g., full-bridge, push-pull, buck, boost)
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance standards, thermal design principles, and ruggedized packaging
- Proficient in power electronics simulation and design tools (PSpice, Altium, etc.)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years' experience in the design and development of power electronics
- MSEE or advanced technical degree
- Familiarity with MIL-STD design practices (MIL-STD-704, 461, 810)
- Experience with environmental and qualification testing
- Experience with magnetic design or transformer-based power systems
- Hands-on experience with thermal and mechanical integration of power systems
- Familiarity with DoD or defense contractor programs and lifecycle documentation
