This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, growing consultancy that's committed to both environmental best practice and a people-first culture. With a newly energised leadership team, the company is focused on giving its staff the autonomy, tools, and trust to thrive and shape how they work.

The Role

As a Senior Ecology Project Manager, you'll be the driving force behind project delivery-coordinating timelines, budgets, and teams to ensure excellence across all stages. You'll work closely with experienced ecologists, technical specialists, and clients, acting as a key contact point while delivering high-quality, environmentally sound outcomes.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and seeing projects through from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of complex ecology projects, ensuring on-time, high-quality outputs.

  • Prepare fee proposals and quotations for new business opportunities.

  • Oversee and coordinate interdisciplinary teams and external subcontractors.

  • Act as the central point of contact for clients, providing updates and ensuring project alignment.

  • Monitor budgets and timelines, ensuring efficient financial and resource management.

  • Integrate specialist ecological input into project planning and reporting.

  • Mentor and support team members, contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • At least 2 years' experience in environmental or planning consultancy.

  • Degree or master's in ecology, environmental science, or related discipline.

  • Strong project coordination and budget management experience.

  • Proven ability to produce accurate fee proposals and manage client expectations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience using project management software (e.g., WFM).

  • APM membership or equivalent project management qualification.

  • Experience with ArcGIS.

  • Background in biodiversity, renewables, or regulatory compliance work.

What's on Offer:

  • 25 days holiday plus Scottish bank holidays, increasing with service

  • 20 days CPD annually + paid professional memberships

  • Paid lunch and flexible hours policy (TOIL)

  • Private healthcare plan

  • Company pension contribution

  • Clear and achievable career development opportunities

  • The flexibility to work remotely, in-office, or hybrid

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role within a consultancy that genuinely values its people and the environment. If you're looking for a new challenge in a role where your input really matters, I'd love to hear from you.
