Genesis Technical is seeking an E/I Engineer with Controls experience for a contract to direct opportunity in Mobile, Al.


Purpose & key responsibilities of the role:

  • Develop proficiency in several programming languages and control device networks for DCS systems, PLCs, or PCs.
  • Provide application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity
  • Manage the implementation timeline for DCS upgrades across different areas of the plant
  • Ability to work with Production and Maintenance to develop HMI Screens
  • Ensure KPIs are met and take corrective actions appropriately when deviations from targets occur
  • Interacting and supporting production by making information available through plant systems
  • Support strategic topics for the P&C group, such as alarm management and documentation management (PLC drawings, tutorials, vendor database, etc.)
  • Create detailed documentation, drawings, and user manuals for frequently used services, and train key users.
  • Oversee the installation of DCS projects at LFI, ensuring all aspects of the project scope are installed according to the project charter and LFI standards.
  • Critical thinker and very detail-oriented, and capable of leading service teams during projects, upgrades or troubleshooting situations.
  • Capable of learning available analysis tools to solve complex DCS system problems

Our expectations for this exciting role:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of solid engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, especially in controls engineering (unit process or integration), equipment engineering, and/or hardware/software automation engineering, demand-supply planning, and industrial engineering, preferably in the Fiber industry or with PlantPAx
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work well with people; have strong intercultural intuition and able to disagree and commit.
  • Experience in Developing Engineering Scope from Concept to Implementation
  • Confident in dealing with relevant standards and regulations
  • Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary, to minimize business interruption during planned or unplanned system modifications.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time, in and outside of the USA for training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to conduct formal meetings with customers and capable of writing, reviewing, and editing various types of reports.
